He later became the Lich King, one of the most prominent antagonists in Warcraft lore.
Warcraft 2 death knight series#
Assuming you aren't constantly redoing your setup between bosses and mob pulls.įor a 2H rotation, just stick to AoE when laying down your D&D. Arthas Menethil is a fictional character who appears in the Warcraft series of video games by Blizzard Entertainment. He was once a paladin of the Silver Hand and the crown prince of Lordaeron, but he was corrupted by the cursed blade Frostmourne in a bid to save his people. While on DW single target, I wouldn't use the Обугленный символ as DKs, unlike most classes, actually have some nice choices for major glyphs, and this glyph is obviously wasted on bosses. I personally don't like abilities such as this *for single target* because I need to "place" the spell and I always feel like I am slowing my rotation down a bit while I do this, and if rapidly moving around then choosing a good place also chews into my time as well. (Your dummy testing could include: if (D&D off CD) and (you have 2 Unholy Runes) and (you took Руническое усиление) then DON'T use D&D, otherwise use it) In other words, it is not an obviously intuitive thing to add to your rotation and you would need to test for yourself over at least several lots of 15 minutes on a *single* target dummy, with and without D&D, to see if it works for you). (It is not purely for maxing DPS numbers appearing on the screen from the D&D but more from the aspect of "gaming" your Unholy runes so that indirectly you are maxing your DPS. I know that Icy Veins does not support this but other authoritative sources such as Elitist Jerks have ranked D&D very high in the rotation. Presently, only a Dual Wield DK would consider this in a single target rotation. Комментарий от Taraezor Edit: This comment was particularly relevant when first posted. This buff is because this spell in Cata has a 30 second cooldown and it can't be reduced with talents or glyphs.Įdit: Cata base damage, I think it was buffed, or it was my mistake. Note that base damage scales with attack power too.īase damage has been almost duplicated, and they added a % amount of Attack power as damage, and it has a glyph to increase its duration by 50% (5 seconds). This ability produces a high amount of threat.Īt 5000 AP, it causes 41 46 + 320 shadow damage (Cataclysm version)Ģ6 shadow damage vs 361 366 shadow damage. This ability produces a high amount of threat.Ĭorrupts the ground targeted by the Death Knight, causing ( 41 46 + (AP * 0.064)) Shadow damage every sec that targets remain in the area for 10 sec. But not outside the realms of possibility.Комментарий от loikIt has been buffed, not nerfed, just look this:Ĭorrupts the ground targeted by the Death Knight, causing 26 Shadow damage every sec that targets remain in the area for 10 sec. The point is, I believe it’s lore-possible. In the end I only leveled the toon to like level 65 before I deleted him but I still reckon it was a workable concept. In this story, when Illidan came through and unlocked the tomb again, he managed to escape, and find himself in a very different world. Because he was undead, I had figured that he would have been able to survive without food or water, so there was that. I had a concept for one back in MoP that was one of Gul’dan’s followers who went with him to the Broken Isles (Which at the time of course we only had lore on from Warcraft 2 & 3) and managed to get himself trapped within the tunnels when Gul’dan was killed.
Warcraft 2 death knight cracked#
In my case, he was basically tossed out into the Zangar Sea after his usefulness expired, woke up years later after the planet cracked apart (at that point in Zangarmarsh), then was found and essentially adopted by a group of third gen DKs who had just come to explore Outland. I’ve personally bent the lore in order to play a first gen Death Knight, as has a friend of mine. Remember, Teron Gorefiend remained a 1st Gen DK all the way into BC, and it’s not confirmed he’s perma-dead, as his dialogue suggests he can keep coming back, time and time again. Wary of that power, but not unwilling to take it if they see a way to remain master of their own fate, that is.
It’s also fair to assume, since said DK hasn’t become a Lich and has managed to evade death at the hands of the Alliance, that they are very wary of power that comes from external sources, and are cautious enough to evade potential threats.
That being said, if you want to RP one of the few that hadn’t, it’s quite probable your DK changed and adapted to the current circumstances- they’re probably still mostly a spellcaster, but they may have revived the raw strength of their host corpses- they were originally knights of the Brotherhood of the Horse, after all, and that raw physicality might be useful to the Death Knight. It’s fair to assume most 1st Gen DKs are dead or have changed into liches.
